The chapter’s Key Points group restates the three-circle understanding and the distinction between aspiration and actual capability. Its Unexpected Findings group switches to contrasts such as the time needed to arrive at an apparently simple idea and the lack of strategic differentiation claimed for the study groups.
The two groups tell a skimming reader both what the model is and which assumptions the chapter means to challenge.
Make the decision

Use when a chapter has a positive model and a second set of claims that overturn likely assumptions.
- Write the essential explanation as a compact first group.
- Reserve the second group for a clear change to an expected belief.
- Keep necessary qualifications near the recap or point readers back to them.
A near miss
Two lists that repeat the same points under different headings do not create two useful reading paths.
Where the lesson stops
Compressed bullets can sound more certain than the argument supporting them. The labels also vary: Chapter 8 uses Unexpected Results rather than Unexpected Findings.
